This is one of the highlights in summer with numerous activities for young and old. Niedernsill is the starting point for wonderful hikes, mountain bike trails and motorcycle tours. What’s more, there are two 18-hole golf courses located in the immediate vicinity. The Hohe Tauern National Park offers a variety of outing destinations, such as the Grossglockner High Alpine Road, the Krimml Waterfalls or the high mountain reservoirs in Kaprun.
Summer in Niedernsill
With its idyllic location, natural water and spacious sunbathing lawns, the lake is THE centre of attractions for water-lovers of all ages. The little ones can romp around in the heated children’s paddling pool or in the separate non-swimmer area with water slide. The bathing complex with very spacious sunbathing areas is very peaceful and quiet. The water temperature in summer is around 23°C. Directly adjacent is the conservation area ‘Luzialacke’ as well as the recreation center with numerous sports facilities available such as tennis, volleyball and archery.

Skiing in Niedernsill
The Niedernsill lifts have a lot to offer for ski beginners, returning skiers and families including; the beginner lift (Bärnbachlift) with a length of about 300 m, T-bar lift (Kerschbaumlift) with a length of about 600 m and 2 slopes. Simply perfect for the whole family. Away from crowded slopes and long queues, the small but nice slopes in Niedernsill are perfect for the first go in the snow. Ski equipment can be rented conveniently from the ski rental shop in Niedernsill.
Skiing at the adventure mountain ‘Nagelköpfl’
The adventure mountain as it’s known, Naglköpfl, in Piesendorf offers fun, sports and action for children, teenagers and adults. The Naglköpfl attracts many return visitors, boarders and beginners to the family mountain. The lift facilities (including T-bar lift/Naglköpfl lift and a practice lift) are ideally suited for beginners and skiers of intermediate skill levels.
There’s also various snow sports waiting for you to discover; think tobogganing or SnowTubing. The T-bar lift will comfortably take you uphill, but the ride back down is an opportunity to rush into the valley at breakneck speed. Furthermore, various other fun activities are offered such as Zipflbob, a trampoline facility, permanent time trial, snowshoe hikes and much more. Treat yourself to the fun and make a nice, fun day of it with the family at the adventure mountain.

Spring, summer and autumn are the ideal seasons for wonderful hikes, mountain bike and motorcycle tours in the region. You might prefer golf, sailing, mountain hiking or even skiing on the Kaprun glacier; all within reach. In winter,downhill or cross-country skiing are the order of the day in the Kitzbühel Alps, on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier (snow guaranteed!) or in the Schmittenhöhe ski area in Zell am See. All destinations just a 10-15-minute car ride away.
